
Former UFC heavyweight fighter Tim Hague, who was badly injured when he was knocked out in a boxing match Friday, has been declared brain dead, according to a report by Mike Russell of RealFightStories.com.
Sources in contact with teammates at the hospital tell me Hague was declared brain dead 2 hrs ago. Such a tragedy. Thoughts with his family.

According to James Lynch of SportsNet in Canada, Hague suffered a brain injury during a boxing match on Friday.

Hague, 34, competed in UFC between 2009 and 2011, participating in five fights. Hague won his UFC debut by submission over Pat Barry in 2009, but subsequently lost his other four UFC fights. Overall, Hague has a 21-13 record in MMA before transitioning into boxing last year. MMA Nation reported that had been KO'd eight times during a 10-year MMA career.
One of Hague's friends, Cody Krahn, provided a little more detail on what happened following the fight:
