Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon just threw another wrench into his NFL Draft prospects.

Mixon was one of the top running backs in college football in 2016, but he was not invited to the NFL Combine after the tape of him striking a woman in the face was released in December. The incident, which happened in 2014, resulted in the woman suffering fractures in her face. Mixon was suspended for the 2014 season as punishment from Oklahoma, which has generated its own controversy for being too lenient since the release of the tape.

Mixon's NFL Draft stock has obviously dropped since the release of the tape, but it may be rising again after the 227-pound back ran a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash at his Oklahoma pro-day.

To put that in perspective, that time would have been near the top for running backs at this year's NFL Combine.

Lots of factors when considering drafting Joe Mixon.. but his unofficial 40 time of 4.43? only 3 RBs ran faster at the combine.

Teams should still be skeptical of Mixon due to his past, but his performance on the field means that one team is likely going to take the risk of drafting him. Whether or not that proves to work out for the parties involved is yet to be seen.
