The Texas Longhorns-Charlie Strong saga has been going on long before the tail end of this season and it looks like it's coming to a head. The school's administration is receiving "extreme pressure" to fire Strong and hire Houston's Tom Herman according to a report from ESPN.

The boosters and fans had soured a bit on Herman after his Houston team suffered losses to Navy and SMU earlier this season, but are back on the bandwagon after the huge win over No. 5 Louisville. With Texas holding on to a 5-5 record and games against Kansas and TCU left, most people believe Strong would be able to stay if the Longhorns beat both of those teams.

After Houston's win, the bidding war for Herman is expected to start "at a minimum of $5.5 million," an industry source said. Strong currently makes a little lover $5 million a year so that step up isn't too big, but could be enough to keep Herman away from LSU who is believed to be favoring Herman as one of its top candidates as well.
There are about four other scenarios where Herman might end up somewhere else like FSU or Oregon, but Texas would love to bring in the coach from a perceived "little brother" school to clean up after Strong and get the program back on track.
