Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) absolutely eviscerated the NFL after in weighed in on what is sure to be a contentious bathroom bill under consideration in the Lone Star state.
The bill, which targets transgender people, would require people to use bathrooms based on their sex at birth. The NFL had voiced opposition to the bill, and told the Associated Press that said if it passes it will affect whether future Super Bowls are awarded in the state.

That did not sit well with Abbott. He tore into the NFL in remarks to conservative radio host Glenn Beck.
"For some low-level NFL adviser to come out and say that they are going to micromanage and try to dictate to the state of Texas what types of policies we're going to pass in our state, that's unacceptable.
"We don't care what the NFL thinks and certainly what their political policies are because they are not a political arm of the state of Texas or the United States of America. They need to learn their place in the United States, which is to govern football, not politics."
Yeah, that's make myself loud and clear alright.
Sports leagues have pulled events from states that passed laws they don't agree with. When North Carolina passed its version of the Bathroom Bill, the NBA pulled the 2017 All-Star game and the ACC moved it championship game out of Charlotte.
