According to Las Cruces Sun News out of New Mexico, NMSU quarterback Tyler Rogers turned himself in on Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The arrest was related to an Aug. 14 incident, where Rogers was allegedly involved in an altercation with his girlfriend.
Rogers' girlfriend told police the two had arrived at her apartment complex after attending a party and had a verbal altercation. The incident became physical inside a vehicle believed to belong to Rogers, according to police documents.
"She was seated in the front passenger seat, at which point Mr. Rogers had gone over to her side of the vehicle and grabbed her by her upper left arm and began to pull her out of the vehicle," according to the police report.
Rogers started most of the 2014 season for the Aggies, throwing for 2,779 and 19 touchdowns against 23 interceptions. He missed most of the 2015 season with an injury. New Mexico State is now in quite the pickle quarterback wise, as last year's backup — Andrew Allen — has left the program.
No court date has been set for Rogers.
