Why Did Stefon Diggs Buy This $15,000 Starbucks Diamond Necklace?

Stefon Diggs has had quite the year. The Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver made a ridiculous game-winning catch against the New Orleans Saints, signed a five-year, $81 million contract extension, and probably went fairly high in your fantasy football drafts.

So what does a 24-year-old professional athlete, or anyone else for that matter, do with that kind of money? If your answer isn't buying a $15,000 diamond Starbucks chain, you are doing it all wrong.

According to TMZ Sports, Diggs went to Al the Jeweler from Labelle Jewelry in Totowa, NJ to do exactly that.

Impressed? It only gets better. The piece features more than 1,000 emeralds and VS diamonds, took over one month to make, and is to the coffee place he is obsessed with.

Diggs, a Gaithersburg, Maryland and former Maryland Terrapins standout, even rocked some Starbucks-inspired cleats during a Friday night preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks in 2017, which Mache Custom Kicks made.

That's not all, though.

As for one reason the Vikings wide receiver got the piece, per TMZ, is because he's "open all day" like Starbucks.

If this isn't one of the greatest reasons to spend a cool five figures on a piece of jewelry dedicated to the Starbucks logo, it's hard telling what would be.

A fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the 6-foot, 190-pound Diggs has hauled in 203 receptions for 2,515 yards with 16 touchdowns in his career. He faulted in three catches for 43 yards and a score in Minnesota's Week 1 win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Diggs' love for the coffee chain is unreal. So is this new chain around his neck. It is the perfect match for a wide receiver with a passion for something, the talent to be successful, and the confidence to pull it off.
