If you're like me you probably get stuck wondering what you should be for Halloween. Zombies, skeletons and clowns can only be done so often, and sometimes you just want to be your favorite athlete when October 31 rolls around.

Nobody has more wins as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Paul "Bear" Bryant was a certified Navy badass and once fought a bear for $1. The man who helped the Georgia Bulldogs win their last championship in 1980 is the easy choice here. Herschel Walker once brought UGA the mascot to the Heisman Trophy ceremony when he won the award. I'd just pick up a replica trophy for this football player costume instead of borrowing someone's bulldog.

OBJ has given us so much content to work with since the New York Giants drafted him out of Louisiana State University. Everyone knows him for "the catch," so the wide receiver gloves are a must. To make this football costume really pop, you're gonna need a fake gold watch (he wore a pricy one in a 2019 game) and maybe a friend to carry around a kicking net. Laremy Tunsil's gas mask video scandal the day of the NFL Draft rocked the football world. It turned out to cost him a good chunk of change as he slid down the first round. The former Ole Miss Rebels tackle has done well in the NFL, though, and there's nothing wrong with poking a little fun with this costume. In the smoking video, Tunsil is wearing a white T-shirt. Peyton Manning is by far the best quarterback in Rocky Top history. I thought about putting together a costume based on one of the numerous commercials he's been in (Nationwide, Papa John's), but I think keeping this one to a simple football uniform is for the best.

I tried to keep this list mostly football. The Kentucky Wildcats have obviously been mostly a basketball school up until recently under Mark Stoops. With so many superstar basketball players to pass through Big Blue Nation, why not the man who had a song (and a dance) named after him?

The Tigers just haven't had many prominent players enter the NFL, and Michael Sam's name is by far the most recognizable. The St. Louis Rams drafted the 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, making him the NFL's first openly gay drafted player. What could be seen as a controversial costume is actually a good chance to celebrate Sam.
