Well this will make for a fun shake up during Tuesday's unveiling of the new College Football Playoff rankings.
No. 1 Georgia was embarrassed on Saturday, suffering their first defeat of the 2017 season at Auburn by a 40-17 score. Auburn dominated on both sides of the ball, as the Tigers silenced the Georgia rushing attack while constantly taking advantage of the Georgia defense with misdirection plays on offense.
With Georgia falling, the big question will be this: how with the College Football Playoff rankings likely shakeout on Tuesday?
Auburn will obviously be a big beneficiary. There had already been talk about how the Tigers could make the Playoffs even with two losses, and a blowout win against Georgia is only going to help their case. They aren't the only Tigers that benefit here, either, as Clemson — who defeated Florida State 31-14 — also gets some help with a team ahead of them taking a loss.
Other teams that will benefit: the winner of the Big 12 showdown between Oklahoma and TCU, the winner of the Notre Dame and Miami game, and Wisconsin — who beat Iowa 38-14 on Saturday to move to 10-0. Georgia losing could be a big move in opening up another spot for one or two of those teams.
In 2012, Georgia lost a game 35-7 to South Carolina and came within a tipped pass of beating Bama in Atlanta.

Of course, Georgia hasn't been eliminated from Playoff contention yet. The Bulldogs have already clinched their berth in the SEC Championship Game, and a 12-1 record with an SEC title under their belt is still a feasible goal.
