Four-star linebacker DaShaun White (6-foot-1, 222 pounds, North Richland Hill, TX) is no longer committed to Texas A&M.

On Saturday, White officially flipped his pledge, announcing that he was now committed to play for Oklahoma.

First and foremost I want to thank my family, fiends, coaches and supporters for always supporting me. I wan to thank the staff at A&M including Sumlin & Chavez for believing me and my abilities as a student athlete. I thank God for the opportunity they gave me and what I've learned from them all. With that being said I am decommitting from Texas A&M and will be committing to the University of Oklahoma for my own personal reasons. I hope that the people of Texas A&M will find it in there heart to respect my decision. It was tough enough as it already is.

White's commitment was very much affected by the firing of now former Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin, but he did stick around long enough to give new head coach Jimbo Fisher a chance to retain him. However, it looks like the Oklahoma staff was able to convince him to come aboard.

With the loss, Texas A&M now had just 14 committed (10 signed) recruits for the 2018 class. That class still ranks 31st in the nation at 247Sports.
