Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had one of them days momma used to warn us about against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

The New York Jets quarterback threw a whopping six interceptions in a meltdown of epic proportions that earned him a grade of 2.14 according to website Pro Football Focus (PFF)—-the worst score given to a quarterback in its ten years of grading. What's worse, that's out of some 2,717 regular and postseason games the site has reviewed.

Fitzpatrick in total went 20-of-44 for 188 yards and zero touchdowns to the six picks in a 24-3 road loss. Ironically, this comes on the heels of the 12-year veteran being honored for his Week 2 performance in a 37-31 victory over Buffalo, securing himself a spot on PFF's team of the week with 374 yards and one touchdown on 24-of-34 passing.

PFF writes that Fitzpatrick's stinker, which incidentally received even worse marks than Peyton Manning's four-interception nightmare last year against the Chiefs, was mostly of his own doing and not precipitated by a heavy pass rush.

"What's truly remarkable about Fitzpatrick's performance is that it wasn't a product of overwhelming pressure. Fitzpatrick was pressured on just 10 of 47 dropbacks, which was one of the lowest rates in the league this week. When under no pressure at all, Fitzpatrick had a passer rating of 10.5, and completed 40 percent of his passes. He completed as many passes to Kansas City defenders as he did to his own receivers on balls that traveled 10 or more yards downfield."

Things won't get much easier when the Jets host the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, October 2.
