Of course, you never want to get caught running into the kicker, but one Ole Miss player might have an excuse: he was sorta backflipped into the Oklahoma State kicker.
The two teams were playing in the Sugar Bowl on Friday night, when Oklahoma State was going for a punt early in the game and defensive back Carlos Davis went hard for the block. Unfortunately for Davis, a blocker was in the way of his attempt, but instead of Davis being blocked, he was sorta thrown haphazardly into the air, where he did a flip and made contact with the Oklahoma State kicker.
It clearly wasn't intentional, but it is definitely a weird and funny way to have that penalty called. The penalty was inconsequential, as Ole Miss won the game 48-20.
