The Oklahoma Sooners regularly deploy one of the deepest and most talented offensive lines in the country and that looks to be the case for the 2017 season. In fact, Bob Stoops and his staff return the entire quintet from the 2016 team in protection of Baker Mayfield and that should help to lessen the burden of a transfer loss the Sooners will face in the future.
On Thursday, rising senior offensive lineman Christian Daimler announced his decision to transfer from the program after a four-year tenure in Norman.

Daimler was largely a supporting piece for the Sooners, appearing in only three games during the 2016 season. The 6'7, 321-pound soon-to-be senior will exit Oklahoma as a graduate transfer and, as far as his next destination is concerned, Daimler will be immediately eligible for his fifth and final season in college for 2017.
As for Oklahoma, this is certainly a loss of depth but one that can mitigated through assembled talent in recruiting and, again, the Sooners return their entire starting offensive line. It remains to be seen as to what happens if one of those starters were to go down with injury but we now know that Christian Daimler will not be in Norman to step in.
