Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller recently made waves by electing to remain in Columbus for his final season despite no assurance of playing time, plus the opportunity to transfer elsewhere without penalty. Miller famously stated his allegiance to the Buckeyes by saying that his son would also one day attend the university. To further play to the Buckeyes' fan base, Miller posted this oh-so-subtle jab at Ohio State's chief rival, the Michigan Wolverines:
Amusingly, Miller cited a photo where he provides a stiff-arm against cornerback Blake Countess, who no longer plays for the Wolverines. Still, there is a method to Braxton's madness, and taking cheap shots at Michigan is the quickest way into the hearts of the Ohio State faithful.
Miller's status on the quarterback depth chart, where he will battle J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones, the third-stringer who famously led Ohio State in its two playoff games to become national champions, remains very much in question. What isn't in question however, is Miller's allegiance to the scarlet and gray.
