According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL has fined Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner $23,152 for a nasty hit he had on Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on Sunday.
Joyner nailed Bridgewater in the head at the end of a run. The quarterback was knocked completely unconscious and left with a concussion. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was clearly outraged by the hit and blamed Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams for the dirty play.
Joyner pleaded innocent, insisting that he did not mean to injure Bridgewater, as the two grew up near each other. Still, the league reviewed and found enough for a hefty fine.
Bridgewater seems to be doing alright, and is likely to start next Sunday against the Raiders.
