Mikel Jones is one of the premier defenders in the class of 2019 and is ranked as the No. 3 outside linebacker and No. 52 overall recruit by 247Sports. The Hialeah (Fla.) Mater Academy Charter product spoke to 247Sports about his top choices in the early going and they are some heavy hitters.

The 6'2", 208-pound OLB has been picking up some huge offers recently from the likes of Georgia and LSU. Those were just in the last week too. He has an offer from Clemson and he's named the Tigers as his clear leader right now.

"Clemson wants me to get up there and see the campus and see the new facilities," Jones said. I've just always loved Clemson. I have family throughout South Carolina and North Carolina."

He also named Miami and Georgia as his frontrunners as of now even though the Hurricanes haven't offered him a scholarship yet. Jones put up some crazy numbers as a sophomore last year with 77 tackles, 17 sacks, four blocked punts, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries as a sophomore.
