Five-star running back Cam Akers, the No. 2 player at his position, has officially committed to Florida State.
Akers eliminated Ohio State, Michigan, Cal and Auburn from the running a week ago, narrowing his list to Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida State and Tennessee.
The Mississippi native was expected to decide between Florida State, Ole Miss and LSU, per SEC Country.
Akers tweeted on Christmas Day, which some took as a hint that he would be attending Ole Miss:
Now my mama all smiles I had to take the frowns away ππΎπ―

247sports' Crystal Ball gave Florida State an 81 percent chance of landing the game-changing running back. Ole Miss follows at eight percent, with Tennessee falling in line at three percent.
Akers is the No. 4 overall recruit. He was originally committed to Alabama, before decommitting in March.
