Former five-star and No. 1 overall recruit in the 2014 recruit class, Da'Shawn Hand, found himself in a sticky situation early Saturday morning when he was arrested on a DUI charge. The current Alabama defensive lineman will have a lot of work to do if he wants to get out of coach Nick Saban's doghouse and Saban made that pretty clear in a statement he released later on Saturday.
"This type of behavior is not acceptable and we are disappointed in Da'Shawn's actions," Saban said in the statement. "We are still gathering information and will evaluate what we need to do in terms of appropriate discipline as we move forward, so better choices and decisions can be made in the future."
In his three-year career so far, Hand has tallied 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 6 sacks along with a forced fumble. Hand was expected to be a full-time starter this year after having to sit behind guys like A'Shawn Robinson, Jarran Reed, Jonathan Allen and Dalvin Tomlinson.
