We're only a few days away from the 2017 NFL Draft and one of the most intriguing prospects is Washington's John Ross who has already been compared to Tampa Bay Buccaneer DeSean Jackson. Ross, however, has some legitimate injury concerns which make predicting where he'll go in the draft very difficult.
NFL analyst Mike Mayock reported Friday that some teams have taken the speedster off their draft boards entirely.
Via NFL.com:
"There are some teams that have pushed him either down their boards or off their boards because of injuries," Mayock said. "He's had surgery on his shoulder, he's had surgery on both knees, and he's got a small frame. So the durability is a big issue with him right now."
As Mayock points out, Ross has undergone several surgeries already in his young career, so teams being weary of drafting someone like Ross makes a lot of sense.
Still, when Ross was on the field for the Huskies he was very productive and has the look and skill of a first-round talent.
Ross also broke the 40-yard dash Combine record this year posting a blazing time of 4.22 seconds. Perhaps an even more impressive feather in his cap is that his speed coach thinks he could have run an even faster time.
Ross had 1150 receiving yards along with 81 receptions and 17 touchdowns for the Huskies in 2016.
