A controversial call prevented the New York Jets from pulling off a home upset against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins appeared to have cleared the plane during a would-be touchdown before coughing up the football, which would have shifted momentum and cut New York's deficit to four points. However, officials reviewed and ruled the play as a fumble touchback.

Referees ruled that Seferian-Jenkins bobbled the football as he made contact with the pylon, although it seemed as though he regained possession immediately and maintained it into the end zone.
New England managed to hold onto its lead and win 24-17.
