Cavanaugh, the former offensive line coach at Nebraska and Oregon State among other schools, brings 32 years of experience to the position and will be expected to make an immediate impact on the Orange's offensive line. Cavanaugh helped form one of the best offensive line groups at Nebraska as the team ranked inside the top 15 in the country in fewest sacks allowed in two of his three seasons on the job.
He spent 15 seasons at Oregon State and helped their offensive group to record-setting offensive numbers and six bowl appearances. Cavanaugh also spent time at Hawaii, Sacred Heart and Murray State among other schools.
