Keon Zipperer is one of the best tight ends in the Class of 2018 and, as such, some of the biggest and brightest programs in the country are after his commitment. Less than a week ago, Zipperer shed light on two powerhouse schools that have impressed him and now, the talented tight end has made his top three official.
Rob Cassidy of Rivals brings word from the 6'3, 215-pound tight end and Zipperer says there are "three schools on top for (him) right now). It's North Carolina, Miami and Florida." Within the same piece, Zipperer does make it clear that he plans to visit other schools, highlighted by Clemson and Auburn, but the Tar Heels, Hurricanes and Gators seem to be at the forefront of his mind.
247Sports currently ranks Zipperer as the No. 5 tight end nationally and the rising senior from Lakeland (Fla.) still has plenty of time to make his final decision. Still, it is awfully nice to be included within the top trio of schools that he is considering and the likes of Larry Fedora, Mark Richt and Jim McElwain have to be pleased with his result.
From here, we will see which of the programs represented can close the deal.
