Former Tennessee defensive end Mykelle McDaniel decided he was going to transfer from the school this summer after taking part in a few spring practices and having redshirted all of last season. He didn't get in to any games and was actually suspended in December during bowl game preparation. However, he's got a new team now and one the Vols will see in the near future.

McDaniel will have to sit out a year before he can play at UAB due to NCAA transfer rules. However, he will see the Vols again in November of 2019 when they are slated to play. The 6'4", 240-pound DE will be a welcome addition to the Blazers who are just restarting the team after a two-year hiatus. He recorded 100 tackles and 13 sacks in his senior year of high school.
