
Four-star linebacker Monty Rice was expected by all of the analysts at 247Sports to choose Georgia over other schools like LSU, Auburn and Alabama. The Madison, Ala. native was crystal balled at 100 percent to Georgia, but he surprised everyone and went with the LSU Tigers.
Scout reported it first and the 6'1", 227-pound inside linebacker addresses a pretty big need for LSU, which could have been the reason he committed there. He might be seeing the field earlier than he would anywhere else and he becomes the 19th commitment for the Tigers, but the first under Ed Orgeron.
Scout has Rice ranked as the N0. 9 inside linebacker in the class of 2017 and the No. 221 recruit overall in the country.
