McElroy delivers warning to Alabama's SEC foes over grad transfers

Every Alabama fan has heard enough about Maurice Smith, his transfer to UGA, and the SEC making Nick Saban look like the bad guy. Tide fans are ready to put the whole thing behind them, but before they do everyone should consider former Bama quarterback Greg McElroy's warning to the SEC.

Pandora's box. I think if grad transfers within conference become common, then Bama will benefit more often than nothttps://t.co/AvthsXyYYu

McElroy refers to the prospect of in-conference graduate transfers as a "pandora's box" and thinks Bama's foes should be worried about their players leaving for the Tide.  You have to wonder if most schools were hoping that the SEC wouldn't let Smith's transfer go through, both to make Alabama look bad and to keep their own players from leaving. Time will tell if there is any benefit to these transfers, but McElroy's warning has the potential to be a nightmare for the SEC.
