The New England Patriots cut defensive end Kony Ealy on Saturday, but the former second round pick found a new home on Sunday.

The Patriots' decision to cut Ealy was surprising considering they had just traded for him in March. New England sent a second round pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for Ealy and a third round pick in return.
Ealy is only 25, and the Jets need help rushing the passer. He has recorded five sacks in each of the last two seasons, and he had four sacks as a rookie.
Ealy recorded an interception in the Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos when he was with the Panthers, and the Jets are in desperate need of any talented player.
