Tulane defensive line coach Kevin Peoples has reportedly interviewed for the same position at Alabama, sources confirmed to BamaOnline.
Peoples spent the past four seasons with the Green Wave after having previously held the same position at UAB (2013), where he also worked as a recruiting coordinator. He also spent eight seasons as at Arkansas from 2005-12.
During his first season at Tulane, Peoples coached American Athletic Conference first-team defensive lineman Tanzel Smart, who was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Derrick LeBlanc, who previously worked under Nick Saban as a graduate assistant at LSU, was also among the candidates to interview for the Tide's vacant position, according to the report.
The assistant had previously worked as North Texas' defensive line coach before joining Kentucky last offseason, as well as Southern Miss (2013-14) and Wyoming (2012).
Alabama is looking to fill the vacancy left by former defensive line coach Karl Dunbar, who was hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month.
