WVU is my new home and I can't wait to perform in front of the fans of @WestVirginiaU @WVUfootball‼️ 🏈

Haskins was part of Mark Richt's first recruiting class, where he was ranked as the No. 6 tight end in the class and No. 4 recruit in the state of New Jersey. The vague announcement of his transfer just said both sides agreed he needed a fresh start:

The 6'4?, 235-pound tight end talked to coach Mark Richt and in the statement from the school said, "I talked to Jovani and we both felt it was in his best interests to get a fresh start somewhere else. We wish him all the best in his future plans."

Haskins did not record any stats in 2016 and ended up redshirting the season. Since he's going to another FBS schools he will have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules.

It's the second time in two weeks West Virginia has picked up a Miami transfer. Former Miami quarterback Jack Allison announced he was also transferring to the Morgantown-based school.

A twist with former Miami QB Jack Allison. Hearing he's not headed to a junior college, as has been reported, and is instead bound for WVU.

Allison is a redshirt freshman who didn't see action last year, and will also have to sit out a year.
