John Cena makes major announcement on his status at 2018 WWE Royal Rumble ·

John Cena is officially entering the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble match.

The former 16-time WWE Champion made the announcement on New Year's Day.

A sunny morning on the first day of 2018. Possibilities are endless, opportunities are plentiful. Time to #EarnTheDay because on January 28th, I’m entering the #RoyalRumble match and earning a chance at history @WrestleMania! #Raw

We're not certain how this relates to his big-time rumored WrestleMania match, but it will likely somehow set up plans for the granddaddy of them all.

Cena returned to Monday Night Raw in a match with up-and-comer Elias. He also appeared at Survivor Series as a member of Team Smackdown, and his last huge showdown was against Roman Reigns at No Mercy.

We're getting close to WrestleMania season, folks!
