Jermaine Kearse made one of the best catches in Super Bowl history, and it should have been immortalized with David Tyree's catch. Kearse, as he was falling down, made a fantastic bobbling catch to set up the Seahawks on on the five-yard line with 1:06 left in the fourth quarter.
When Kearse caught that ball, I thought it was over. The Seahawks had won their second-straight Super Bowl. There is absolutely no one in the NFL I would rather want down near the goal line than Marshawn Lynch.
Two plays later, Seattle ran the worst play call in Super Bowl history. The Seahawks ran a slant route on the one-yard line, which was intercepted by Malcolm Butler. I'll never understand why Seattle didn't give it to Lynch. It's one of, if not the most-boneheaded decisions in sports history.
Unfortunately for Kearse, his catch means nothing. If Seattle wins, the catch would be shown on highlight reels for years and years to come.
