We have heard many tales of fast 40-times after the NFL Combine ended on February 29. One prospect reportedly ran a 4.19 a week ago, but that turned out to be a 4.32 on the laser timing.
Well, another prospect has stepped up to the plate and is apparently attempting to take the crown for the fastest 40-time ever.
Texas Tech WR Jakeem Grant just clocked a 40 yard dash in the 4.1 range. #Saints scout had him at 4.10. Fastest 40 ever.

@NolanFleming6 that was his first attempt. Scouts had him 4.1-4.2 range on his second attempt.

This was apparently on Grant's second attempt, as he ran a 4.34 on his first. We will have to wait and see what the verified time is on the second attempt when it comes out, but good gosh: if all of the scouts had him in the "4.1-4.2", then he at least ran something under 4.3.
If confirmed, then Grant just really boosted his prospects as a future NFL punt returner.
