The Denver Broncos want Peyton Manning back under center in 2015. Peyton Manning wants to play football in 2015. And now, it finally looks like we have some clarity on where things stand between the two parties.
Manning and the Broncos are reportedly working on restructuring his contract. According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the two sides have met to discuss his current deal. It's unclear at this point if Denver is asking Manning to take a pay cut.
Manning is due $19 million this season, and his salary becomes fully guaranteed on March 9 if the two sides don't reach an agreement by that point.
It's possible that he will get all $19 million, but the structure of his deal will have to be sorted out. With free agents like Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas needing new deals, I have a feeling that the Broncos are going to try and push back when Manning gets all of his money.
Ultimately, I believe Manning will be Denver's signal-caller next season.
