Four-star defensive end Terrance Lang (6-foot-5, 278 pounds, Pasadena, Ca.) is a towering presence on defense, and he is one of the biggest recruits available at the DE position. On Thursday, Lang took the next step towards his college career, announcing that he'll be staying close to home with a commitment to USC.

Lang picked USC over Oregon and Colorado. He also has offers from Tennessee, Texas A&M, and UCLA.
Lang gives USC 15 commitments for the 2017 class, and it's an interesting class by USC standards. They are still ranked No. 1 in recruiting in the Pac-12 according to 247Sports, but at No. 16 nationally, this would be the lowest-rated USC recruiting class in a decade.
Obviously there is still a lot of time left before National Signing Day, but it's intriguing that USC has one of their weaker recruiting classes in recent memory in a year where they really rebounded to national relevance. USC is set to play in the Rose Bowl this season, which will be the Trojans' first appearance in that particular bowl game since 2008.
