It's official.
After two years at Notre Dame, former four-star linebacker Josh Barajas is officially leaving South Bend, as Barajas will transfer to Illinois State.
Via Notre Dame Insider:
"We knew a lot about Josh coming out of high school, having played at Andrean High School with (Illinois State tight end) Tylor Petkovich," ISU head coach Brock Spack said in a statement. "He was a very good player coming out of high school and landed at Notre Dame, but felt he needed a new start."
Barajas, a former four-star of the 2015 class, rarely saw action on the field with the Fighting Irish. He officially appeared in nine games in 2016, but it was primarily on special teams and he failed to record a tackle.
Since Illinois State is an FCS school, Barajas should be eligible to play immediately.
