By now you've all seen the way No. 17 Florida State lost to Georgia Tech last week. Roberto Aguayo attempted a 56-yard field goal that was blocked by the Yellow Jackets and returned by Lance Austin for a game-winning touchdown. After the game, a lot of people were comparing it to Auburn's kick-six over Alabama in the 2013 Iron Bowl.
In the FanBuzz college football podcast this week, we agreed that the play was up there in terms of how spectacular it was, but it won't be remembered as much because the stakes weren't as high as the 2013 Iron Bowl.
In case you forgot, Auburn — much thanks to winning the Iron Bowl and SEC Championship the week after — made it to the 2014 BCS National Championship to face an undefeated Florida State. Aguayo, a true freshman and starting placekicker for the 'Noles. He was asked before the game whether or not he would block a kick-six if it were his, and he responded hilariously that he would, and that he works on tackling drills "all the time."
