Florida released a statement on their athletics website on Tuesday that linebacker Jeremi Powell is no longer with the team and that Powell will not be returning for his final year of eligibility.
Powell is on schedule to graduate from Florida in May and is reportedly leaving the team to look for a "future outside of the game". Powell played in 10 games in the 2015 season, recording 11 tackles and one tackle for loss.
Powell is the latest player to leave the Gators, joining Alex McCalister (dismissed), Vernon Hargreaves (draft), Kelvin Taylor (draft), Demarcus Robinson (draft), and Will Grier (suspension, transfer). Florida won 10 games this season, but lost 41-7 to Michigan in the Citrus Bowl.
