Well this is awkward.
According to USA Today's Dan Wolken — citing two sources with knowledge of the situation — Texas A&M is expected to pursue Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher at the end of the season. Kevin Sumlin is still currently A&M's head coach, but the expectation is that the Aggies will part with Sumlin sooner rather than later.
This is not the first time that Fisher has been connected to another job while at Florida State. Fisher was reportedly a candidate for the LSU job last season after Les Miles was fired, and his name has already been brought up several times this season with regards to Texas A&M.
Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward is known to be a friend of Fisher, with both of them having spent time at LSU. Fisher was the quarterbacks coach and then the offensive coordinator at LSU from 2000 to 2006.
Fisher is 3-6 this season at Florida State. The Seminoles have struggled immensely this season after starting quarterback Deondre Francois was injured in the opener against Alabama.
