With National Signing Day behind us, we now have some things to reconsider about teams based on the recruiting class that they are bringing in. With that, ESPN has updated their "way-too-early" rankings for the 2017 season, and their may be a few surprises near the top.
Alabama, Florida State, and USC stay the top three teams for ESPN, but Ohio State jumps into the Top 5 by taking the No. 4 spot. Penn State, the previous No. 4 team, drops one spot to No. 5.

Other big developments in ESPN's rankings are LSU and Colorado, who both jumped at least six spots — Colorado was previously unranked — in the rankings. The biggest loser? TCU (19), Florida (21), and Pitt (22), who all fell out of the rankings entirely. Florida did bring in a solid recruiting class this year thanks to a surge on National Signing Day, but it looks like ESPN wasn't a fan of the rest of their offseason.
