The final attendance figures for the 2015 season were released by the NCAA this week, and it is good news for the SEC, as they set their record for highest average attendance in one year.
The conference as a whole drew 7.7 million fans to their home games for the season, which comes out to an average of 78,630 fans per game. The Big Ten was second on the list, drawing an average of 66,008 fans per home game. According to the NCAA, this was the 18th consecutive year that the SEC has led college football in average attendance.
With those numbers, it should be no surprise that the Top 10 in average attendance per game by team is dominated by the SEC. The conference has six of the Top 10 slots, but they were still denied the No. 1 spot on the list, which has been held by Michigan for almost all of the past 40 years. (save for Ohio State taking the lead in 2014)
