As of right now, neither Alabama nor Ohio State have a top-10 recruiting class

Nick Saban and Urban Meyer have dominated recruiting this decade. Saban led Alabama to the No. 1 class in 2017, while Meyer had Ohio State at No. 2. In fact, the last time Alabama and Ohio State weren't both in the top 10 in recruiting at the end of the year was in 2010.

There's still a long time before National Signing Day 2018, but as of right now, neither the Crimson Tide nor the Buckeyes are currently in the top 10 for recruiting on 247 Sports.

Ohio State is ranked No. 13 in the country in recruiting at the moment, and Alabama checks in at No. 17. Miami has the No. 1 class, while the Buckeyes' division rival Penn State is No. 2. LSU has the top class in the SEC at No. 4.

Northwestern and Wisconsin are two other Big 10 teams in front of Ohio State, while Texas A&M is a few spots ahead of Alabama.

The Buckeyes and Crimson Tide each have four verbal commitments at the moment, so their rankings will eventually change once they receive more commitments. But it's still surprising to see them both outside of the top 10.

LSU, for example, has 13 verbal commitments—which is the second most in the country behind Miami's 15.

With 10 months until signing day, Saban and Meyer still have plenty of time to add talented players. Based on their respective track records on the recruiting trail, it's a safe bet that they'll both finish strong.
