Making picks for the College Football Playoff can be pretty difficult at times, as you never know what to expect out of a season. That's what makes college football so great.
Well, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. is apparently expecting all of the craziness for this upcoming season. In his picks for the Playoffs, not only did Kiper snub Alabama completely for rival Auburn, but he also picked Washington as the team to win the national championship.

Washington played Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal last year, and while the Huskies return a lot of talent from last year's team, predicting them as the team to win the title this year instead of Alabama is not a bet most people would make in this situation.
Washington will be heavily competing with USC this year for the Pac-12 crown. The two schools are seen as Top 10 teams coming into the upcoming season, with many giving USC the advantage thanks to upstart quarterback Sam Darnold.
Washington opens the season on Sept. 1 at Rutgers.
