After going undrafted out of Arizona, wide receiver Trey Griffey — the son of MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr. — was signed by the Indianapolis Colts.

However, Griffey was placed on waivers last month with an injury designation, a move that would put him on the Colts' injured reserve if he went unclaimed. Well, that is exactly what happened, and now the Colts and Griffey have reached an agreement, per Pro Football Talk, for him to be officially waived from the roster.

Griffey will now go through the waivers process yet again, but this time he will become a free agent if unclaimed.

Griffey struggled a bit with injuries during his career at Arizona, but the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder was still a productive option thanks to his size an athleticism. Griffey had 1,241 receiving yards in his career to go with six touchdowns, with his best season coming in 2014 where he had 31 receptions and over 400 yards.
