Ohio State was shut out by Clemson in Beck's last game, and his new boss, Tom Herman, said Beck was unfairly criticized during his tenure in Columbus.

"I was really surprised," Herman said via ESPN, "because it's very well-known Tim Beck didn't call plays at Ohio State. I think the negativity was misplaced on him."

Beck said in the the article that Ohio State was 23-2 during his tenure while he was the OC before the Clemson game, and the Buckeyes offense had plenty of success while he was there.

Beck was replaced with former Indiana coach Kevin Wilson, who was fired for allegedly mistreating players. Beck replaced Herman on Urban Meyer's staff as Ohio State's offensive coordinator after the 2014 national championship season.
