Two additional SEC teams remain in the running for four-star outside linebacker Quay Walker despite his commitment to Alabama, his coach, Brad Harber, confirmed to AL.com.
Walker committed to the Tide in June but has kept his recruitment open and is still considering Georgia and Tennessee as well.
With National Signing Day just days away, Harber believes the linebacker could sign with any of his three remaining finalists.
"Speaking on my end, I think all of those three (Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia), they're all good choices," Harber said. "And I think that he's going to make the right decision. Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, none of 'em would surprise me on February 7. None of 'em. I really do think it's that close, to be honest with you."
Tennessee has emerged as a serious contender to flip the linebacker since hiring head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The former Alabama defensive coordinator served as Harber's primary recruiter for the Tide before accepting his new position in December. Additionally, Tennessee defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer also served as his main recruiter for Georgia before joining the Vols' staff shortly after Pruitt's arrival.
"Tennessee, to me, is that wild-card," Harber said. "Tennessee wasn't even really on the map at all, but you have all these guys that Quay's familiar with and now they're all at Tennessee."
Still, Alabama remains the favorite to sign the four-star prospect, according to his coach.
"Given the fact that he has not decommitted from them or anything, I think they have a (chance)," Harber said. "It wouldn't surprise me for him to stick with his commitment to Alabama."
Walker is currently taking his last official visit with the home state Bulldogs and plans to announce his official decision during a National Signing Day ceremony on Wednesday.
The senior ranks as the No. 2 outside linebacker, the No. 6 player from the state of Georgia and the No. 31 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
