According to Adam Rowe of 247Sports, former four-star Oregon lineman Rutger Reitmaier is transferring. Reitmaier had signed with Oregon earlier this year as a member of the 2017 class, but it looks like he will already be taking his talents elsewhere.
Rowe mentions that Reitmaier was granted his release and has been given permission to talk to four schools: Vanderbilt, Michigan, Duke, and Tennessee. Tennessee was originally the favorite for Reitmaier before committed to Oregon last year.
As a Nashville, Tennessee native, the Vols could again become the leader for Reitmaier, as 247 mentions that he is looking for something "closer to home". Of course, Vanderbilt will also be heavily in play if that proves to be the biggest factor.
Reitmaier originally rated as a four-star and the No. 10 defensive tackle of the 2017 recruiting class by the 247Sports player rankings.
