He committed to Florida State in May of 2012, and then decommitted in February of 2013 — shortly after former FSU offensive coordinator James Coley, who had been at Florida State from 2008-12, was hired by Miami in January.

Yearby, who has 424 yards so far in 2015, was asked this week as the upcoming game against Florida State is fast approaching, was asked why he flipped his commitment from Florida State to Miami two years ago. He said it was simple — the hiring of Coley at Miami.
