After Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant passed former Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan on the all-time scorer's list Sunday evening, the current Charlotte Hornets owner released a statement to the Associated Presscongratulating him.

After Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant passed former Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan on the all-time scorer's list Sunday evening, the current Charlotte Hornets owner released a statement to the Associated Press congratulating him.

"I congratulate Kobe on reaching this milestone. He's obviously a great player, with a strong work ethic and has an equally strong passion for the game of basketball. I've enjoyed watching his game evolve over the years, and I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.''

Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to social media to support Bryant's accomplishment.
