League exec reportedly believes Josh McDaniels-Colts situation can be traced back to DeflateGate

The bad blood between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots isn't going away anytime soon. But Patriots owner Robert Kraft doesn't believe the rivalry ever went anywhere. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kraft is still bitter about the Colts ratting out the Patriots for DeflateGate, and he made sure to bring McDaniels back to stick another dagger in the Colts.

Text from one league source: “That’s Kraft putting it to the Colts again. He will forever try and (expletive) that place ever since deflate gate.”

In the past 48 hours, Patriots owner Robert Kraft began talking with Josh McDaniels and ultimately wound up sweetening his contract, helping to entice him to remain in New England, per sources. Bill Belichick has his OC back.

And in case you were wondering, yes, the Patriots and Colts do play next season in Foxborough. There will be plenty of drama leading up to that game.

The Colts and Pats had several memorable battles in the 2000s between Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, and as Ballard said, the rivalry isn't going anywhere.
