
Top overall seed Kansas got out to a blistering start against UConn in the round of 32 game leading the Huskies 44-24 at halftime. The Jayhawks let UConn get a little close, but ended up winning 73-61 thanks to great nights from Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden. KU held UConn to 33.9 percent shooting from the floor and hit 49 percent of their own shots.
Ellis had 21 points and eight rebounds while Wayne Selden led all scorers with 22 points and had seven rebounds. Devonte' Graham chipped in 13 points. Sterling Gibbs for the Huskies scored 20 points in the loss while Rodney Purvis had 17 points.
