Dallas Cowboys linebacker Justin Durant has been released just one day after Christmas and to days after the team was eliminated from playoff contention.
The Cowboys added Durant, who had previously played for the team from 2013-14 and again in 2016, when he appeared in 13 games and recorded 37 tackles, including one sack.
Durant was a second-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He played four seasons with the Jaguars, two seasons with the Detroit Lions, two seasons with the Cowboys and one year with the Atlanta Falcons.
Durant has started 95 games, registering 500 tackles, 4.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and three interceptions.
