A star high school football player was killed and dumped in the woods in a case that has authorities continuing to investigate the mysterious circumstances that led to his death.
Jeremiah Isaiah Jones, 19, was found dead in a remote, wooded area of Wilkins Twp. in Pennsylvania, a small township about 12 miles east of Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Police say they have evidence that Jones arrived in a car, was shot, and left for dead. Authorities are still looking for suspects and a motive.
While Jones played quarterback in high school, 247Sports had him listed as a three-star recruit at safety. He had verbally committed to play for West Virginia but backed out earlier this month. He also had offers from Indiana and North Carolina State.
